- Rent online or by phone to gain instant access to your unit Monday-Sunday 6am-10pm. For additional customer service support, call or visit the leasing office, where our highly trained storage pros are always happy to assist. Once you’ve signed the month-to-month rental agreement, you will receive and email with your personal passcode to access the property.
- Download the Guardian Storage app (available in the iOS App store and Google Play) for easy Bluetooth property access and account management.
- Move your items into your unit at your convenience and put a lock on the door. Keep in mind, online rentals include a FREE lock that is placed in the unit prior to your move in date. We also offer use of our moving truck for up to 25 miles for a one-time cost of $20 (for the insurance deductible) to move your items into your unit. Please note: you must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance to reserve our moving vehicles.

Guardian also provides a FREE lock with online rentals.
Our standard sizes range from 5’x5′ to 10’x30′ and are approximately 10’ high (all dimensions are approximate), but some properties offer additional smaller and larger options, from storage lockers to extra-large units. From storing one room of furniture to storing your whole house, our size guide can help you find the right amount of space for your storage needs.
A drive-up unit has a roll-up door and its own loading area enabling you to drive up to it and load your belongings in or out. Guardian Storage also offers Climate Controlled Drive Up units at many locations.
Roll-up doors are like garage doors – they roll up overhead for easy access. They are usually wider than swing doors, making it easy to move larger items in and out.
While most of our units are designed to store personal or business belongings, some of our properties offer spaces for parking vehicles or vessels. Please check with your neighborhood Guardian Storage to see if this feature is available.
We provide a FREE lock for all online rentals! A brand new, secure lock is placed in the unit so you can move in at your convenience once your lease is signed online.
If you prefer to rent in person or by phone, you can purchase a new lock at any Guardian Storage leasing office. You are also welcome to provide your own lock if you prefer.
Exceptions to note:
- Some Guardian Storage properties have doors that require specific locks. The required lock will be provided free for all online rentals. If you rent in person or by phone, our property team will explain if a specific lock is required. Where required, these locks are available for purchase in the Leasing Office.
- Currently two Guardian Storage locations (Louisville, CO and Morgantown, WV,) have electronic Bluetooth locks that do not require an additional physical lock. If you rent at either of these properties, you will need to either download the Guardian Storage app or request a Bluetooth fob to open your unit.
Yes. You are welcome to use our complimentary carts and dollies while you are at Guardian Storage. We just ask that when you are done, please place all carts and dollies in their designated areas by main entries to the building.
Yes. If there is no direct exterior access to the floor on which your unit is located there are large elevators available for use.
Access Hours: Tenants can enter the property with the app or by entering their passcode 365 days a year Monday – Sunday 6am-10pm.
Online Support: Call any Guardian Storage property Monday-Saturday 7am-1am EST and Sunday 10am-6pm EST to speak to one of our storage specialists.
Leasing Office Hours: For in-person support or to purchase storage supplies, our Leasing Office is open Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm.
Yes, your items will be safe. We invest in the latest security features at all our properties to protect your belongings as if they were our own:
- State-of-the-art digital video recording systems
- Motion detectors
- Fully gated properties with passcode protected entry
- Central station monitoring
- On-site managers at every property
Full-time maintenance staff to keep everything clean and well maintained
When you rent from Guardian Storage, you are in control. You can allow or restrict access for anyone you specify. The Guardian Storage app offers the ability to temporarily grant Bluetooth access to anyone you choose.
You have three options:
- The best and easiest option is to download the Guardian Storage app from the Apple iOS store or Google Play store and follow the easy account setup instructions, so you won’t have to remember your access code. The app allows you to tap a button on your smartphone to enter or exit the property.
- Visit Guardianstorage.com and ask the chatbot for your access code. After a fast, secure digital verification process, you will be sent your access code.
- Call your Guardian Storage Property Manager during online support or office hours:
- Online Support: Monday- Saturday 7am -1am EST, Sunday 10 am – 6pm EST
- Office: Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm
Yes, we prohibit the following items at any of our properties:
- Explosives or flammable items, including ammunition
- Hazardous or toxic materials, including any paint, fuel or other combustible chemicals
- Food or any other perishable items
- Plants or animals
- Stolen or illegal items
- Wet or scented items
- Money or priceless and irreplaceable items
- Firearms
- Unregistered vehicles
- Tires
The move-out process is easy: simply empty your storage unit and let us know you are leaving. If your account is not overdue, we will close out your account that day.
You can let us know you are moving out before your intended vacate date in any of the following ways:
- In the Guardian Storage app – On the Account page, click the unit you wish to vacate and choose “schedule move out” from the options at the bottom of the screen and follow the prompts. Once completed, the property team will be notified and, where applicable, stop autopay.
- By phone – call the property phone number during online support or office hours
- In person – stop into the office Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm
As a courtesy, we request you give at least 10 days’ notice.
You are responsible for the items you store at Guardian Storage, and insurance for your stored belongings is required. As a service for our tenants, we offer the Guardian Protection Plan. At a very low cost and with no deductible, Guardian Storage will reimburse you up to an agreed upon amount for damage to your stored property resulting from:
- Fire
- Explosion or smoke
- Theft, vandalism or malicious mischief
- Roof leak or water damage
- Windstorm that causes damage to the building
- Collapse of the building where property is stored
- Impact of aircraft, missile, or vehicle
- Pest damage (up to $500)
Even if you have coverage for stored items through a homeowner’s or renter’s insurance plan, it may be cost efficient to use the Protection plan because your home owner’s insurance deductible is likely to be hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars.

Yes. You can sign up for autopay with our managers at move-in or online any time during your stay. We’ll automatically deduct your monthly charges from a credit card, debit card, or bank account. No bills, no checks to mail, no late fees.
If you don’t want your rental fee to be paid automatically you can make a one-time monthly payment using our convenient online billing and payment option.
Yes – anyone can buy our high-quality moving and packing supplies at any Guardian Storage property leasing office during office hours.
