Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds of all Guardian Storage properties, directing Guardian Storage maintenance staff and third party contractors, and overseeing equipment and supplies. The position will be responsible for recommending and scheduling repairs and renovation projects.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and implement a property management preventative maintenance program and life-cycle requirements for equipment
  • Conduct and document regular property inspections
  • Inspect structures of buildings as needed and determine if repairs are required
  • Ensure roofs and elevators have updated inspections
  • Inspects construction progress of renovation projects
  • Supervise maintenance and repair of facilities’ equipment
  • Oversee facility refurbishment, renovations and additions
  • Obtain proposals from vendors and suppliers
  • Calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness
  • Check and approve completed work by contractors and vendors
  • Verify invoicing match to contract pricing
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives
  • Advise on and monitor energy efficiency
  • Supervise custodial staff, cleaning and maintenance of the facility
  • Perform property equipment obsolescence planning, budgeting and replacement
  • Schedule and coordinate facility modifications

Preferred Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering or related qualification such as project management, or construction management
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of procurement and contracts
  • 3-5 years’ experience in construction, maintenance and facility operation

Salary Range

  • $55,000 to $65,000, depending on experience and qualifications
