The Education Partnership

You call them pencils. We call them power tools.

For economically challenged families, items like pencils and paper are often forced to the bottom of the list of necessities. But that leaves more than 60,000 school-age kids in the Greater Pittsburgh Area without access to the most basic supplies—things that enable them to participate in learning activities, complete their homework and feel like valuable members of the class.

We are proud to support The Education Partnership (TEP) in their fight to bridge the gap between what students have and what they need to succeed in the classroom. We believe a good education is one of the best opportunities a child has to reach his or her potential.

Guardian Storage Adopts Two Schools

Guardian Storage Adopts Urban Academy for Education

Guardian Storage at the Urban Academy

Guardian Storage is proud to have adopted two schools this year – Pittsburgh Clayton Academy and Urban Academy of Greater Pittsburgh, through TEP’s Adopt-A-School program. Our support provided essential supplies to all of the students in both schools. Those teachers and students greatly appreciated our support, but there are still many more students who need help.

TEP currently serves 32,026 students and 2,638 teachers by providing school and classroom supplies. For a school to qualify, 70% or more of the students must qualify for the National Free or Reduced Lunch Program. There are 28,000 more students in our area that qualify but aren’t yet in the program because of funding needs.

How can you help?

Your support could change the life of a student in our community and there are many ways to get involved. To learn more or donate, please visit The Education Partnership, or talk to your Guardian Storage property manager.

  • Monetary donation directly to The Education Partnership. Any amount helps!
  • Donation of any unneeded school supplies. These include pencils, pens, crayons, notebook paper, markers, tape, glue, folders, binders, etc.
  • Adopt-A-School Program. Select a school and provide Power Tools Homework Kits to all of the students.
