Guardian Storage Holds Ground Breaking for Second Monroeville Location

Guests joined Guardian Storage 9/21/16 to celebrate the ground breaking of a new 83,525-square-foot, state-of-the-art self-storage property at 4711 William Penn Highway.

The company plans to renovate and expand upon the existing two-story building – previously the site of a Designer Furniture Outlet store – as well as construct a new three-story building to create 709 self-storage units and retail space.

After two years of planning, Guardian Storage is excited about the project and feel the second Monroeville location will be a valuable addition to the local community. While the current location on Old Haymaker Road is accessible for those west and south of Route 22, the new property is in a convenient location for both Monroeville and Murrysville residents and businesses.

“The location was selected based on the large volume of nearby residential and retail properties and its high visibility,” said Guardian Storage President Steven Cohen. “We plan to build glass windows at the front of the buildings so passing traffic can see how Guardian Storage delivers exceptional value to its customers.”

The modern, attractive property will feature the latest in self-storage amenities and security to meet the various needs of residents and businesses. While residents will have a place to store their seasonal belongings or fine antiques, the facility will also prove a valuable resource for local business owners looking to store extra materials or important documents.

To further assist customers, the new Monroeville location will offer a variety of amenities such as free Wi-Fi and coffee, as well as the use of a meeting room, a fax machine and copier services. According to Cohen, “We go above and beyond when it comes to customer service to ensure an easy, convenient and supportive experience for each and every customer.”

Many local organizations, financial institutions and government leaders helped to facilitate the project, including the Monroeville Township Council and Administration, Desmone Architects, Bridges Construction, and First Commonwealth Bank.

The new Monroeville property will be the fourteenth Guardian Storage location in the greater Pittsburgh area and is scheduled for completion in April 2017.
